Residential Group Care

CHOICES House is an adolescent pre-independent living facility which provides services to both young men and women. We have five homes serving the State of Florida. These single-family homes are located in the Volusia County area. Currently our program provides services to males and females between the ages of 8-17 in need of long-term care or are eligible for independent living. CHOICES House allows these children to attend neighborhood schools, participate in extra-curricular activities, and play sports.

We create individual objectives for each resident of CHOICES House. Our philosophy being that by changing the environment of a child you affect the response of that child to his/her environment. We value self-determination and working with adolescents to achieve their individual goals for themselves, while helping them cope with being in out-of-home care. CHOICES House is a trauma informed care environment and uses a positive behavior management model. We have been certified by the Crisis Prevention Institute in non-aggressive verbal de-escalation. All our Resident Youth Managers and direct care staff are required to complete this training. Our focus is normalcy, education and helping youth to receive independent skills and successfully transition out of care.
